B is for... MONKEY?

Since becoming pregnant and becoming a mother, my hobby of card-making has fallen by the wayside, which is unfortunate given the fact that I have an entire room (and oodles of supplies) dedicated to the hobby.

Mike's cousin (Tina) recently adopted a baby so, we needed to send a card for this new baby boy. My inspiration was blue paper with brown squiggle dashes, along with this adorable SOCK MONKEY stamp set (by Stampin Up) which I have been wanting to use one of these days.

I believe my cardstock was creamy caramel, chocolate chip and not-quite-navy. I used a few shades of browns of my "adult (watercolor) crayons" with a blender pen for coloring. I used 3D foam adhesive for the waving hand, the tail and the snout so that they are all lifted off of the page.

When I showed the card to Mike, he said "B is for MONKEY?"

Inside, I wrote:
beautiful baby boy!

Congrats to Tina and Ryan on their new addition - baby Rhys (pronounced Reece)

Therapy session brings new card

This morning, I was having kind of a BLAH day. Unmotivated, un-enthused, un-inspired to tackle more laundry and dishes.

Baby napping. Mike getting ready to go to work.

Hmm... need to send a card... MAYBE it is FINALLY TIME to unpack some of my paper crafting supplies. The house is messy, but quiet...

Yet after the creation of my first card post-baby, I am feeling better. (I always did find card making and scrapbooking to be therapeutic.) It is hard to believe that I made no new cards since Christmas-time last year.

INSIDE:
Congratulations on your new dream home...
may the sun shine brighter,
may the grass grow greener -
Enjoy your new home!

AHHHH, much better!

This Blog neglected.... My BABY BLOG is my new thing!

Sorry that this blog has been neglected severely.

We've relocated... from MN to IA... and are expecting our first child this month! Needless to say, with the move and all... I haven't unpacked all of my scrapbooking and crafting supplies. (Figured that it I unpacked them, I would use them... and at this point, we have to prepare our household for the arrival of our baby.)

My BABY BLOG has NOT been neglected by any means! That gets updates regularly. (I guess if I am unable to scrapbook, etc - it is best that I capture these moments via BLOG instead. That way, at least I have all the memories journaled and sometimes photographed, too!)

Color Challenge

On Kristina Werner's color challenge 32, (http://kwernerdesign.com/blog/2008/11/color-inspiration-32.html), the colors were: riding hood red, sahara sand, very vanilla and whisper white.

It's been SUCH a long time since I participated. Nothing like last minute. (I posted right at the last second, I think.)

I used: Ruby Red, Kraft, Very Vanilla and Whisper White card stock.

Background trees were stamped with VersaMark ink. Stamp was from SU Lovely as a Tree. Everything else was stamped in StazOn black ink.

Torn paper in whisper white to make snow. SU scallop punch and 1.25" circle punch were also used. Truck stamp, people and gifts were from SU Loads of Love and Loads of Love Accessories. Colored with SU blender pen and SU Ruby Red Watercolor Crayon. Celebrate the Season stamp was from SU So Many Scallops.

It has been AGES since I broke out my crafting supplies. Was feeling a little BLAH and lonely today since hubby is stuck working for Black Friday. Spent the entire day alone - living 8 hours from family and friends. Needed a little therapy break to stamp.

(Kind of embarrassed ... after viewing the photo, you can see all kinds of dust where I had taken the photo at... guess I should have spent the day cleaning!  OOPS, my bad!)
